Our Values and Ethos

At Woodlands Primary Academy we believe in providing excellent opportunities for all. Our school community provides a nurturing, friendly and inclusive environment in which children feel safe, valued and inspired to learn in creative ways.  All children are treated as individuals, where they are supported and encouraged to challenge themselves to be the best they can be.

We strive for our children to:

  • Be confident, resilient individuals with high aspirations
  • Be independent and inquisitive learners, willing to challenge themselves, ask questions and learn from mistakes
  • Be open-minded and responsible citizens, having a mutual respect for and understanding of the diversity within their community and the wider world
  • Accept responsibility for their behaviour, respect themselves and have a positive impact on others

At Woodlands we will:

  • Provide a safe and stimulating learning environment where children can be excited about their learning and ask questions
  • Offer a broad, balanced and creative curriculum for all our children.
  • Be positive role models, developing mutual respect and valuing all members of our school community; celebrating their individuality
  • Promote self-discipline through clear boundaries and high expectations of effort and behaviour
  • Support children in exploring their emotions and understand their feelings in a positive, nurturing environment.
  • Provide a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for children, parents, governors and staff.
